Energy labels are a result of European guidelines, designed to decrease the level of energy consumption of transportation, electrical appliances and buildings within the European community. These guidelines are part of European legislation in which formal levels are stated about the energy consumption of buildings in this case. Therefore energy labels are an official indication of the level of energy consumption.
